Requests!

We love to hear requests from our listeners: sometimes you'll introduce us to bands we've never heard of!

If there's anything you'd like to hear on the show, email us throughout the week at stonehenge@wrek.org

It doesn't have to be super-obscure: you're not meant to be trying to impress us, we just want to play the classic rock people really want to hear!

Here's a classic bit of rock to get you going: The Pretty Things, with 'LSD' from the CLASSIC 'Get the Picture'.

Once again, I'm AWOL, doing a show with one of my bands (www.myspace.com/earlymodernwitchtrials).

Dr. Rock is again aided by the able and eminent T. Von Schaaf. I found this great shot of Bubble Puppy hanging out with Funkadelic at the wwebsite of Dave Fore, the drummer for Bubble Puppy, here. In his own words:

"I have almost no memory of this picture being taken"

If you hung out with Funkadelic, it's a miracle you remember ANYTHING, Dave!

And our featured track from this weeks set: Hardstuff's 'Monster In Paradise', from the LP 'Bulletproof', released in 1972

Hard Stuff was the band formed by Paul Hammond and John Du Cann from Atomic Rooster, and one of the hardest working bassist in rock, John Gustafson (Quatermass, Roxy Music, The Merseybeats, The Big Three, Episode Six). 'The Rooster' were one of the hardest rocking bands of the early 70's, and Gustavson (who had played in Episode Six with Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, pre-Deep Purple) was no stranger to hard rock, so it'll come as no surprise that both the albums released by Hard Stuff live up to their name!
