This weeks classic rock album was the final LP from Cream before their split, the appropriately titled 'Goodbye'. As with all the classic LPs this year, it was released exactly 40 years ago to the month of us playing it. Not much to say about Cream that hasn't already been said, so let's let the three gentlemen in question say it themselves, with Goodbye's 'Politician', from their farewell concert in '68.

Each week we play a Classic Rock Album in it's entirety to begin the Show in style. This year we'll be playing an album that is celebrating it's 40th anniversary release from the very same month. In March 1969 Quicksilver Messenger Service released their second album proper (not including the Revolution movie soundtrack) entitled 'Happy Trails'. It's a stone cold San Francisco Psych classic, and is perhaps the most Bo Diddley album ever (not released by Bo Diddley). Happy Birthday, Happy Trails!

Here's some great live QMS playing Mona from Happy Trails to some lysergically enhanced onlookers.

For this week, the 40th anniversary of Ten Years After's 'Stonedhenge' was observed. This is an interesting LP: as close as these meat 'n' potatatoes blues rockers got to a psychedelic LP, with strange experimental passages and reverbed percussive weirdness alongside freaky blues riffage and mellow acoustic ditties. It's Ten Years After, but not as we know it, and most definitely STONED!
