Stonehenge Playlist 03-06-09

From The Ramrods, the VIP's, and perhaps most notably Art came Spooky Tooth, and we played their excellent second album 'Spooky Two' in it's entirety this week to celebrate it's 40th anniversary.

For this week, the 40th anniversary of Ten Years After's 'Stonedhenge' was observed. This is an interesting LP: as close as these meat 'n' potatatoes blues rockers got to a psychedelic LP, with strange experimental passages and reverbed percussive weirdness alongside freaky blues riffage and mellow acoustic ditties. It's Ten Years After, but not as we know it, and most definitely STONED!

This week's Classic Rock Album (played in it's entirety) was Jefferson Airplane's 'Bless Its Pointed Little Head', a live LP recorded at the Fillmore East and West and celebrating the 40th anniversary of it's release in January 1969.

This week's classic rock album, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of it's US release, the classic US only LP by Fleetwood Mac - English Rose. It was originally a US-only compilation, combining 6 tracks from the UK-only Mr. Wonderful, 3 UK non-album single sides, two not-yet-released songs from the UK version of Then Play On and one other previously unreleased track. It's a hotch-potch to be sure, but it's also one hell of an album!
