This week's classic album, all the way from Berlin, Birth Control, with their ninth album from 1976, 'Plastic People'. A great progressive album from a band with many facets. And a lead singer drummer, to boot! Here's my current favorite cut from the LP, 'Trial Trip'. But it's all good!

This week's Classic Rock Album, played from beginning to end, was the excellent third LP by Curved Air - 'Phantasmagoria' (1972). It was the last LP from the 'classic' original line-up of the band, and it's somewhat of a masterpiece, particularly the suite that takes up the second side.
Here's the band performing the big single from the LP, 'Marie Antoinette', which went to #20 in the UK charts!

This week saw a Classic Rock Album with boogie levels set to 10: Status Quo - 'On the Level' (1975), at which point they were at the top of their game, in terms of quality output and popularity. How did they do it? Here they are playing one of their biggest hits (from 'On the Level') to show us all how it's done:
Of course, we would be remiss to post this without mentioning the death of Don Van Vliet, who's demise was announced during the broadcast of the Show. He was a legendary performer, an inspired composer and a true one-off, original artist. Long will his influence be felt in the world of music.
