Stonehenge 12/12/14 + Bridget!

Tonight on Stonehenge was a wonderful treat! We had a great CRA from a band we had previously NEVER played a full album from before, in addition to having some great company! We love it when listeners send emails, make calls, and we had the pleasure of rockin out with long time Stonehenge fan Bridget--she actually lent us the CRA to play! It was Sir Lord Baltimore's debut album, Kingdom Come, released in '71. Here is the title track for you to jam on while you  peruse the night's choices.

Stonehenge Setlist 12/05/14

Tonight we paid tribute to not one but two great musicians who have left us very recently and too soon. Ian McLagan, the wonderful keyboardist for Small Faces and Faces, died at age 69 from complications of a stroke. In addition to his own bands, McLagan also played on Rolling Stones records and for Bruce Springsteen.
Only a few days earlier we also lost the great Bobby Keys, saxophonist for the Rolling Stones, not to mention John Lennon, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker--too many to list here! Fortunately for us, Dr. Rock gave us a nice set of songs with Keys' sublime playing to hear. Keys died of cirrhosis of the liver. It's another sad week here for us all at Stonehenge, but we will rock on and preserve the memory of these eternal talents.
Tonight's Classic Rock Album is 1973's very classic Ooh La La, by Faces, and below is an excerpt from the album--the track Borstal Boys, which was written in part by McLagan and also a personal favorite of his. Enjoy!
