Stonehenge Setlist 8/11/17

Tonight's Classic Rock Album is the 2nd lp by the outstanding band on Capricorn Records, Captain Beyond - Sufficiently Breathless.  This is the second spin for this lp on the Stonehenge Show, first played in 2007 but we brought it back out with Captain Beyond coming to town.  Bit of a line up change for this one from their debut, now a six piece band but 3 of the original 4 were still on board -- Lee Dorman, Rod Evans and Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt.

Stonehenge Setlist 8/4/17

Our Classic Rock Lp tonight was the 5th Studio Lp by the English band Traffic - The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, released in November of 1971.  This is the only original Traffic lp that had Jim Capaldi on vocals for 2 songs.  We also played this in celebration of Jim Capaldi's birthday which was on the 2nd.  Sadly Jim passed away in 2005 but we continue to enjoy his work as the drummer of the outstanding band Traffic.  Also fun time tonight with the return (albeit for 1 night) of Katherine (my original cohost from 2004) for tonight's show.

Stonehenge Setlist 7/28/17

Our Classic Rock Lp tonight was the 6th British Lp and 8th US lp by The Rolling Stones - Their Satanic Majesties Request.  This lp was release in December 1967.  The lp drew mixed reviews from critics when released but has risen in critical reputation over the years.  This is an lp of the times it was recorded in, psychedelic Stones albeit just for this lp - then back to their blues rock roots.

Stonehenge Setlist 7/21/17

Tonight's classic rock lp was the 1969 release by the Youngbloods --- Elephant Mountain.  The band was headed up by Jesse Colin Young, who went on to much success as a solo artist.  This weeks CRA is also listed in the book -- "1001 albums you must hear before you die"  -- glad to have helped in that regard and brought this one to our listeners.  One other note for tonight - DJ Jelly Bean was in the studio again --- what fun.
