Tonight's Classic Rock album was the 1973 lp "Witness" by Spooky Tooth. Spooky Tooth formed in 1967 when Gary Wright joined the band "Art" after being introduced to the band by Chris Blackwell - founder of Island records. The band was made up of truly outstanding musicians -- Mike Harrison, Greg Ridley - who later joined Humble Pie, Luther Grosvenor - who later took the stage name Aerial Bender and joined Mott the Hoople, Mike Kellie and Gary Wright who formed Wonderwheel and also went on to much solo success. Stonehenge Playlist 11-29-2013
Tonights Classic Rock album was the first lp by Britians - Barclay James Harvest. The band formed in 1966 and in 1968 were signed to EMI's Parlophone records but were then moved to the labels more progressive subsidiary --Harvest. This self titled lp remains one of their best -- great hamonies, outstanding guitar and mellotron -- what's not to love.
Jen opened the show with a very heart felt tribute to her good friend -- Ria Pell.

Blackfeather hailed from Sydney, Australia and were signed to Festival Records, a newly formed progressive subsidiary of Infinity Records. Bon Scott of later AC/DC fame contributed to the lp, giving them the song "Seasons of Change" to record. It went on to reach #15 on the Australia charts. Tonights Classic Rock Album was "The Slider" by T Rex. The Slider was released in the summer of 1972 and went to number 1 in the UK and became T. Rex's most successful American release, reaching number 17.
