Stonehenge Playlist 03-22-13 No Classic Rock Album this week due to sports and a rather short show at that but we tried to make it worth while. Sadly we started off with another tribute to a great guitarist that recently passed away, Peter Banks - the original guitarist for Yes. Peter Banks first teamed up with Chris Squire (Yes bassist) in Syn and then they both moved on to the band Mabel Greer's Toyshop. Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford and Tony Kaye all came on board and the band changed it's name to Yes. Yes's first album was released in 69 and Peter only stayed thru their second album - Time and a Word before leaving to form Flash.

Stonehenge Playlist 03-08-13 This weeks show was a tribute for the legendary guitarist from Ten Years After - Alvin Lee. He passed away on March 6th at the age of 68. The core of Ten Years After started playing together in 1960 but in 1966 they changed the name of the band to Ten Years After - in honor of Elvis Presley, an idol of Alvin's. It had been ten years since Elvis Presley's enormously successful year, 1956. TYA scored 8 top 40 albums on the UK album charts and 12 albums entered the US Billboard 200. Alvin's incendiary performance at the 1969 Woodstock Festival featured in both the film and soundtrack catapulted Alvin Lee and TYA to star status.
